The Goal
The Alumni Endowment is a professionally managed
investment fund that was started as a way to secure the
future of Phi Kappa Theta at St. Francis. Our goal was to
start a fund that could one day pay for most (if not all) of
the operational costs of the fraternity and the alumni board.

Of course a fund like this will take years, maybe decades,
before it can finally sustain an entire chapter's expenses.
However, by organizing the framework now we can slowly
build toward the ultimate goal of a completely self-sufficient
chapter and alumni board.
Your Money Is Guaranteed
One of the benefits to supporting the Alumni Endowment is that your money is guarenteed in
the event that our organization should be dissolved. The principal in the endowment will
never be touched and only its yearly returns will be utilized by the PTAA. The amount of
money contributed by each donor will be carefully monitored and in the event that the
fraternity should once again close, we will return that amount to you. If money was donated
anonymously, or from sources that cannot be attributed to any one individual then that
amount will be divided equally among the remaining members of the association.

...But There's A Catch
Since the only portion of the endowment that will be used are its annual returns, the PTAA
Board has decided to put a limit on the percentage of your donation that you can contribute
to the Alumni Endowment (currently 60%). This was done to assure that not all the revenue
we take in is earmarked into this account (the endowment) which will not provide a
sustainable income stream in the near future. Each year the PTAA board will decide what the
limit on the endowment will be. Of course in the future, the hope is that we reach a point
where there is no restriction on the amount that may be donated to any of the funds,
however since we have just started this organization we will need time to "ramp up" the
balances in all three accounts. If you have any questions regarding this please feel free to
contact us.

What It Pays For
Initially the Alumni Endowment will pay for very little as it will not be producing enough of a
return to contribute significantly to our organization. During this period all of the returns will
be re-invested back into the endowment.

Once the returns become significant we will begin using them to subsidize the operational
costs of the PTAA and the PKT chapter. This would include reducing insurance fees, paying
pedging and initiation fees, national conference fees, dues and more. Beyond assistance in
paying for those costs, it will also allow us to provide additional financial assistance to the
undergraduate brothers in the form of dedicated yearly scholarships for outstanding
academic or community effort.
